The Doctor called and said you have two kinds of Breast Cancer invasive Ductal Carcinoma and non invasive DCIS.

In May I had surgery to remove the cancer and days later got even better news that I was a stage one and no lymph nodes were involved. Halleluiah!

You see please don’t assume if you have a lump that it’s not a big deal or it can’t be cancer because you are too young.

Cancer doesn’t have an age barrier. Early detection is a woman’s best chance for survival!

Ladies please don’t be too scared to go to the doctor because you are afraid of the “what -if’s”.

Thanks for listening…

spread the word.

Text Box: Orbit Software On TV!

Recently Orbit Software team members had the unique opportunity to team up with the TV show “Our Planet” to release feature presentation on “Transportation Solutions for the 21st Century”.

Producers worked with OSI as well as seasoned BusBoss users from Great Valley School District to create an inside look into how transportation has evolved from the first school bus in 1827 to today.

The episode of Our Planet will highlight the innovative ways BusBoss Transportation Software, coupled with it’s add-ons such as TRIPpatrol GPS tracking, has allowed users to optimize their transportation departments, producing more efficient routing and a “Greener” district.

“We are very happy to be part of an industry that promotes student safety while ensuring a cleaner planet tomorrow by providing a product that reduces resource requirements”, said Sonia Mastros, President of Orbit Software.  “We are making the planet better, one school district at a time.”

Text Box: October’s the month
When the smallest breeze
Gives us a shower
Of Autumn Leaves.

Bonfires and pumpkins
Leaves sailing down
October is red
And golden and brown.

Gadget Corner/BusBoss Tip of the Month

Three guys at the University of Arkansas in

Fayettesville assembled the Pumpkin PC shown below.

Using a hollowed out pumpkin shell as the case, they inserted a

1.6 Ghz Intel Pentium processor along with the guts of a Dell Latitude 410.

       Other components included a wireless
network card, 60 GB hard drive, 512 MB
DDR memory, and a DVDR/RW drive.
Fans were used as eyes.

       Definitely an ingenious idea. Perhaps
they can transfer the components to a
hollowed out turkey for Thanksgiving.

In September of 2009 I went to the Bahamas with my family for a week. My entire family went for our family reunion. I loved it there and would love to go back.

The beaches are very nice and there are many things to do. I particularly enjoyed the water parks. I loved the Atlantis Mayan Temple water slide.  It is almost vertical and lots of fun.

Text Box: Featured Vacation Spot

October is here and I automatically think of Halloween. This month I did some research and have come up with some famous spooky places in the United States.

Gettysburg Battlefield - Gettysburg PA is said to be the most haunted city in North America. One of the first stories ever told was of a ghost believed to be George Washington. As the soldiers of the 20th marine came to a fork in the road this ghost led them to the top of Little Round Top where they repelled a Confederate attack on a Union flank.

Bell Witch Cave - The most famous supernatural story in history is that of the Bell Witch. The legend dates back to the early 1800s when Kate Batts, on her death bed, made a promise to haunt neighbor John Bell and his descendents. Visitors from around the world flock to see this haunted attraction located in Adams, Tennessee.

Waverly Hills Sanatorium - Tuberculosis was a major epidemic in the early 1900s. Waverly Hills Sanatorium, located in Louisville KY was opened for TB patients in 1926. A cure was found and in 1950 the sanatorium closed its doors. It was later

reopened as Woodhaven Geriatric Sanatorium for a short time, however was court ordered to close its doors due to improper patient care. It is believed that former patients vacate the newly renovated building.

Eastern State Penitentiary - Prisoners brought here were kept in solitary confinement their entire stay and in most cases this led to insanity. Inmates were not permitted to make any noise or have any communication with other inmates. If they were caught doing this they were punished. Punishments were inhumane which led to the prison being shut down in  1971. Eastern State Penitentiary is now the property of the city of Philadelphia and is a historic landmark.

St Augustine Lighthouse - In 1824, the St Augustine Lighthouse was built in St Augustine FL to replace the original lighthouse that was lost due to tidal erosion. The US government purchased land from the owners where the lighthouse is now located. One of the land owners, Dr Ballard, put up a fight regarding the sale of his property and it’s believed that his ghost still haunts the lighthouse among others.

The White House - 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC is not only the home to the

current President. Claims have been made that former presidents still reside there. There are many stories of past presidents and their families who are seen occasionally in the White House. The ghosts of Dolly Madison, Andrew Jackson, and president Harrison have all been seen, however, most often you will hear of Abe Lincoln being seen and heard roaming the halls.

Queen Mary - Now resting in Long Beach, CA the Queen Mary started out as an ocean liner that offered the finest cruises to the rich and famous. During WWII she became known as “The Grey Ghost” and transported troops back and forth. Once the war was over luxury travel resumed. Eventually the ship was sold to the city of Long Beach and has become a floating museum and hotel. Forty-nine reported deaths have occurred on the Queen Mary and it is popular belief that at least 150 known spirits reside upon the vessel today.

Lincoln Theatre - In 1860, the land that occupies what is now the Lincoln Theatre in Decatur IL, was home to the Priest Hotel. Property caught fire twice and was rebuilt in 1916 to become the Lincoln Theatre. It is believed that a former stage hand named “Red” now haunts the place and possibly souls that were lost in the former fires.

Bachelors Grove Cemetery - Located in Midlothian Chicago, this cemetery once held a park like atmosphere. In the early twentieth century the Midlothian Turnpike ran past the cemetery, however, it was closed in the 1960’s. It appears as if the road ends at the gates. Bachelors grove has been the site of vandalism, animal sacrifices, theft, and even corpse excavation. Common sightings have included houses that never existed along with the “White Lady” who is in search of her lost infant.

Stanley Hotel - Located in Estes Park, Colorado, the Stanley Hotel was opened in 1909 by F.O. Stanley. He purchased land from Lord Dunraven and built what is known as the Stanley Hotel. Seventy-five percent of staff have reported ghost sightings. Most commonly heard is music playing in the grand ball room by Mrs. Stanley and children playing on the 4th floor. Steven King’s visit to the hotel led him to write “The Shining”.

Hello my name is Jaime Kline.

I am a Sales and Marketing rep. here at Orbit Software.

Many of you may know me as the lady you demoed with after seeing our BusBoss scheduling and routing software. Which I might add is very user friendly and flexible!

I decided to write an article for this month’s newsletter to mention Breast Cancer in honor of Breast Cancer awareness and in honor of myself.

You see I was just diagnosed this May with the disease I have always dreaded!

Why I am thankful….

I am thankful because when it was caught it was a stage one with NO lymph node involvement.

This was great news but I was shocked to hear the diagnosis. After all I was only 33.
